Tech billionaire Elon Musk has sold X (formerly Twitter) to his own artificial intelligence company, xAI, in a massive $33 billion deal, he announced last night.
In a post on X, Musk said the move will unlock immense potential by combining xAI’s advanced AI capabilities with X’s global reach. The deal also values xAI at $80 billion and marks a significant step in Musk’s vision to integrate AI with social media.
Musk, who also leads Tesla and SpaceX, originally bought Twitter in 2022 for $44 billion before rebranding it as X. He launched xAI a year later to develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence.
This latest move suggests Musk is positioning X as an AI-driven platform, potentially revolutionizing how users engage with content and interact online.
