Rather than go into a landfill, or contribute to ecological damage, these tires are being used for something truly wonderful.
A couple of years ago, a young artist named Amarildo Silva from Brazil was looking for a way to make some extra money.
While walking on the street, he saw stray dogs using discarded tyres as makeshift beds and hence, an idea was born.
Amarildo started collecting old tires and turned them into beds for stray animals.
By painting each one in a unique color and design Amarildo makes them look attractive. After that he cut holes in the sides to form handles, adds a bed inside, and to make it more personalized, writes the name of the pet on the outside.
Amarildo has created a wide variety of bed designs and has put them for sale.
Usually, his posts stories on his social media feed with his tyres along with a motivational message, which says, “Do not wait for the future to be happy, make the gift your joy.”
Apart from creating these comfortable and cozy beds for animals to reside in, he is also giving a helping hand to the planet by reducing waste and recycling old tyres. His nobility is not limited to his deeds but it also gets reflected in his thoughts. He advocates for less violence in Brazil.
Amarildo said, “I wants
Brazil to be with less violence and more work.” He says that instead of a
weapon, people should hold a tool in their hands and get their life fixed which
may further change the reality of Brazil.
He believes that everybody
can make a difference in this world, even if people think that their efforts
are too small to bring that change as every little effort counts.
