Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik has received another set back before the general election of 2019, which is only few days away. The incumbent Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha Mr. Blabhadra Maajhi has resigned from BJD. While resigning he has alleged that he has been often neglected by the party high command. However, sources close to BJD say that he might have resigned from the party anticipating denial of ticket to him. In the corridor of BJD it is being discussed that Mr. Ramesh Majhi may get ticket replacing him from Nabarangpur LS constituency.

He contested the 2014 LS election from BJD ticket after quitting his government job and won the election. However, he has not been that influential in the internal party affairs and is no way considered as a heavyweight. It is to be seen as to what option he chooses after resigning from the party. The buzz in the local media is that he may opt for BJP.
