BJD leaders continue to desert the party citing some or the other excuses. Today, yet another senior leader and sitting Nilagiri MLA Mr. Sukant Nayak resigned from the party citing ‘mental torture’ on the part of the district president of Balasore. It seems many in the BJD are not happy with the party leadership and apprehending that they may not get party ticket this time, many of the leaders are keeping their electoral options open. This is yet another set-back to Mr. Naveen Patnaik in the eve of the general election and also election to 147 assembly constituencies.

It must be mentioned here that earlier on Thursday, sitting BJD MP Mr. Balabhadra Majhi, representing Nabarangpur LS constituency, resigned from the primary membership of the party terming the BJD internal party affairs being conducted in a very undemocratic fashion. He also vented his frustration and accused his own party of conspiring against him by deliberately and systematically keeping him out of important party meetings since past several months.
