Prime Minister Narendra Modi on
Sunday expressed his displeasure towards the opposition. He rejected the entire
allegation where the opposition blamed the government decision that the Economically
Weaker Section (EWS) quota of 10% will provide education and jobs and the steps
are taken only to gain advantage in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. The PM
rubbished all the charges and called it ‘illogical’ and ‘baseless’. He even
said that the opposition parties are spreading lies and rumours because the
decision is giving then sleepless nights.
The PM even confirmed that,
“elections take place on a regular basis and the decision taken by the
government should not always be linked with the election angle, which sounds
illogical. Even if the decision had been implemented few months back then they
would have been rumours that the decision was taken by keeping the general
election of the five major states in mind”.
Modi once again hit out at the opposition’s
unity bid as he said the main objective of the proposed alliance is to defeat
BJP in the upcoming election. “The Mahagathbandhan has taken place only because
of the fear of getting defeated. Even before the election the opposition is
targeting the EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) as the villain. They have taken
the public for granted which is grave concern for all. They are even defaming
the constitutional institutions and have no trust in the constitution of
Modi further added that his government
has alliance with the people which is bigger than any Gathbandhan.
